LEADERSHIP

Michael Bastasch is the editor-in-chief of the Daily Caller News Foundation. Michael is himself a product of the DCNF Fellowship Program, and he went on to lead the DCNF’s energy and environment coverage. From 2019 to 2022, Michael served as the writer for The Ingraham Angle on Fox News. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and three kids.

Neil Patel is the chairman of the Daily Caller News Foundation, which he co-founded with Tucker Carlson. He is also a co-founder and publisher of The Daily Caller, as well as a co-founder and managing director of Bluebird Asset Management, a hedge fund investing in mortgage-backed securities. Neil served in the White House from 2005 to 2009 as the chief policy adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney, and from 2001 to 2004 as his staff secretary. Prior to joining the administration, Neil was assistant general counsel at UUNET Technologies, practiced law with Dechert Price & Rhoads, and served as counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on U.S. National Security and Military/Commercial Concerns with the People’s Republic of China. Neil received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as associate editor of the Journal of Law and Policy in International Business.

Adele Malpass  is the president of the Daily Caller News Foundation. Adele has a strong background in journalism as a manager, writer, producer, booker and on-air reporter. She’s worked and contributed to numerous media organizations including CNBC, RealClearPolitics, PBS, SiriusXM and the New York Post. Until 2017, Adele was the Chair of the Manhattan Republican Party where she was voted by City & State as one of the 50 most influential leaders in Manhattan, received the Women in Leadership award by the Women’s National Republican Club, and the Service to the Nation award from the New York City Veterans Club.

Carter DeWitt is the chief development officer for the Daily Caller News Foundation. No stranger to the national nonprofit scene, Carter brings over 25 years of combined experience in fundraising, public relations, communications, marketing and business management at the national, state and local levels. Previously she had successful chief development officer tenures at the Tax Foundation and the Franklin Center for Government & Public Integrity. Carter oversees all aspects of fund-development, including foundation, corporate and individual support.
