Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser took to Twitter to warn residents of “fake” immigration flyers being posted around the city, reassuring residents that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers are not coming to get them.
Bowser and other D.C. locals were concerned that these ICE flyers could be real, however, Bowser, dispelled rumors and said that D.C. is still a sanctuary city. “We respect all DC residents no matter their immigration status,” Bowser tweeted. “Washington, DC remains a sanctuary city.”
