Three people were injured in a car attack Saturday in the German city of Heidelberg.

The attacker rammed his car into pedestrians before fleeing the scene. Police shot and injured the man, who was armed with a knife, after a brief standoff.

None of the victims have life-threatening injuries. Police said a jihadi motive was unlikely but did not rule out terrorism, Der Spiegel reports.

The attack comes just two months after a Tunisian man rammed a truck into a Christmas market Dec. 19 in Berlin, killing 12 and injuring dozens. Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, a Tunisian man, killed 86 people July 14 when he drove a truck through a crowd in Nice, France.

The city of Cologne moved to ban trucks from the city center during the carnival this weekend as a security precaution.
