Clinton ‘Blew Off The Police’

A large law enforcement union says only Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is to blame for her disrespect of police, according to a Tuesday report from The Hill.

The Fraternal Order Of Police (FOP) didn’t endorse Clinton, and now local chapters are speaking out. “We’re falling in line with the national FOP, and, basically, she just disregarded and blew the police off,” Philadelphia FOP president John McNesby told a local talk radio station.

Republican nominee Donald Trump reportedly spent months courting the support of the FOP, something Clinton just didn’t do. “You can’t go in and expect to get respect when you didn’t give it to us,” McNesby said.

“We gave a very fair process, we thought. We put out a questionnaire, and she absolutely refused … outright refused, with a nasty campaign rebuttal [as] to why she wouldn’t McNesby concluded.

McNesby was one of three members deciding who the highly influential group would endorse for President, according to a CBS Philadelphia affiliate’s reporting.

“They didn’t care,” he said. “Their attitude, then, back in July, during the [Democratic National Convention], was they were going to win this thing anyways, so who cares?”

“Now, I think the tides have turned a little bit, and she’s on her heels. As many times as we’ve tried to … have it a fair process and an open process, the emails back then were that they’re not interested and no thanks. Just snide things like that,” McNesby added.

Clinton submitted the FOP’s questionnaire Sept. 4, but it was far past the deadline, according to McNesby. The results of the questionnaire were not published in the FOP Journal Magazine, but the full text of the responses were published online.

“In my administration, there will always be a seat for labor unions and law enforcement officers at the table. As President, I will listen to your concerns, welcome your ideas, and be honest with you about the challenges we must face and overcome together,” the Clinton campaign wrote in the questionnaire’s accompanying statement.
