Out of everyone who attended billionaire-entrepreneur Peter Thiel’s lecture series on the Antichrist, only a reporter from the Thiel-funded Pirate Wires was allowed to disclose what was said at the event.
Attendees came to the Grand Lodge of Tennessee Free and Accepted Masons in Nashville for four consecutive Mondays starting Sept. 28 to hear Thiel’s lecture series on the Antichrist. Only Thiel-funded Pirate Wires’ G. B. Rango was permitted to share his experience at the off-the-record lecture series.
“[The article] is my best attempt at a faithful reconstruction of the events and arguments from my memory, notes, and occasional reference to online posts from other attendees,” Rango said in his article, “Inside Peter Thiel’s Nashville Antichrist Lectures.”
Funded by Thiel, Pirate Wires was created in 2020 by Michael Solana, former vice president at Thiel’s venture capital firm, Founder’s Fund. Neither Pirate Wires, Thiel nor Rango responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
The Daily Caller’s request to cover the event was denied.
“The Antichrist, says Thiel, will mark the totalitarian termination of philosophy,” Rango wrote.
In traditional Christian eschatology, the Antichrist is the false prophet who will deny Christ and reign before the Second Coming, according to theologian Christopher Rowland.
“Peter Thiel has long referred to ‘peace and safety,’ sourced from 1 Thessalonians 5:3, as the ‘slogan’ of the Antichrist,” Rango wrote. Thiel thinks that the Antichrist will assume authoritarian power through the promise of peace, Rango claimed.
The lectures at the Free Mason lodge ventured off into other topics, like transhumanism, according to Rango.
“[Thiel] noted that Matthew 10:8 is an imperative (‘Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils’) and posited that, perhaps, transhumanism does not go far enough, and that Christian transformation goes even further than that,” Rango said.
On the subject of artificial intelligence (AI), Thiel suggested that it won’t be AI itself, but rather the “AI Safetyists” espousing “apocalyptic doomerism” who will provide the groundwork for the rise of the Antichrist, Rango claimed.
Thiel made a point of calling out Pope Leo XIV, calling him a “useful idiot” for writing Magnifica Humanitas, an encyclical on AI, which Thiel dubs as granting “cultural authority to AI doomers,” Rango wrote.
Because of the United States’ political and cultural authority, Thiel mused on the possibility of presidential hopefuls being the Antichrist. Thiel ruled out New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as the Antichrist because he cannot become president. He considered former Vice President Kamala Harris and Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom as more likely candidates.
“Look for a person who would be a very bad president of the United States,” Rango claims Thiel said on identifying the Antichrist.
.Thiel does not believe President Donald Trump is the Antichrist because he is not popular enough, Rango remarked.
Xi Jinping, president of China, might be the “second-coming of Hitler,” but not the Antichrist, Thiel said, according to Rango.
Thiel’s Nashville lecture series at the Freemasons’ lodge is the latest in his attempts to stir intellectual curiosity in the Antichrist. In previous lectures in Rome and San Francisco, Thiel suggested AI skeptics and climate alarmists are “legionnaires of the Antichrist,” and implicated Greta Thunberg as a potential candidate for the end-times ruler.
