“Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary clashed with former MS NOW host Tiffany Cross Tuesday after she repeated claims that United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hired “Proud Boys” and racists.
Violent resistance to ICE operations in Minneapolis, where hundreds of agents were deployed following reports of Somali welfare fraud, has escalated following a string of shootings involving federal law enforcement officers. After Cross accused ICE of mistreating detained illegal aliens and labeled them “the Gestapo,” O’Leary called her out.
“Did you just say ICE officers are militia?” a stunned O’Leary asked, with Cross responding, “Yes. Have you not been paying attention? They certainly are the Gestapo.”
Cross then repeatedly talked over O’Leary as he tried to address the comparison of immigration enforcement officers to elements of repression used by Nazi Germany, which many on the left have done for months. Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota compared ICE to the Gestapo, Nazi Germany’s secret police, during a May 17 commencement address at the University of Minnesota law school.

“Actually, we have seen white supremacist tattoos-” Cross claimed, with O’Leary responding, “Risking their lives, serving the government-”
“Risking their lives? They’re taking lives,” Cross interrupted O’Leary, who shot back with, “You’re calling them Proud Boy militia? Did you say that?”
Cross denied calling ICE “Proud Boys,” despite having speculated that ICE hired members of the group during a Jan. 16 appearance on “CNN NewsNight,” a claim that the Department of Homeland Security denied when reached for comment about those claims. Cross also claimed ICE ran “concentration camps” in a July 2025 appearance on the show.
“You’re way out of side. Way out of side,” O’Leary told the former MS NOW host, who has a history of racially-charged attacks on conservatives, including inflammatory comments aimed at black conservatives in particular.
“I’m actually not, but I think that there are white supremacists tattoos on their-” Cross claimed before O’Leary cut in, asking, “White supremacist federal officers?”
“Yeah, white supremacist federal officers,” Cross claimed.
According to a Bureau of Justice Statistics report, in fiscal year 2020, only 51% of United States Customs and Border Patrol agents were white, with 38% being Hispanic, 6% being black, and four 4% being Asian. The BJS report also indicated 24.9% of ICE agents were Hispanic.
“Okay, where are you going with this? Why would you say-” O’Leary asked before Cross cut him off, claiming, “I’m going with my eyes, ears and logic. There have been multiple ICE agents who have white supremacist tattoos-”
“Men and women working for the federal government, risking their lives, carrying out a mandate, and they’re white supremacists?” O’Leary asked, with Cross claiming, “Yes, and you’re a member of a cult so I wouldn’t expect you to have logic.”
