Daily Caller editorial director Vince Coglianese demanded the Clintons be jailed after they refused to testify in the congressional probe into deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a Wednesday episode of “VINCE.”

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said the committee will vote on holding former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress after both declined to appear for their separately scheduled depositions, ABC News reported on Wednesday. Coglianese argued on his show that jailing the Clintons would serve as a vital “deterrent” against harming Americans. “Lock ’em up. They just said F you to Congress. And now what? Now what happens? Come on. Come on, Republicans. And James Comer, perfectly good that you’re doing a contempt of Congress proceeding,” Coglianese said. “Let’s get this thing rolling. But every single one of you, from Congress to the Justice Department, all the way through the [President Donald] Trump administration, develop the testicular fortitude to actually do what’s necessary to salvage our country.”

“Because the rest of us are just chomping at the bit to get our country back. Because we’d like to leave something good to our kids and grandkids,” he continued. “What role are you going to play in making sure that happens? And if you’re not going to help, get the hell out of these jobs and we’ll put somebody in who can do it.”

The former president posted a letter to Comer on X Tuesday regarding why they would not testify to the committee.

“We are confident that any reasonable person in or out of Congress will see, based on everything we release, that what you are doing is trying to punish those who you see as your enemies and to protect those you think are your friends,” the Clintons wrote in the letter.

“Despite everything that needs to be done to help our country, you are on the cusp of bringing Congress to a halt to pursue a rarely used process literally designed to result in our imprisonment,” they wrote. “This is not the way out of America’s ills, and we will forcefully defend ourselves.”

Republican and Democratic members of the Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee on July 23 unanimously approved a motion via voice vote to send subpoenas to ten people, including the Clintons, for testimony regarding crimes allegedly committed by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Comer sent the subpoenas on Aug. 5.

The former president’s deposition was originally requested for Oct. 14 and subsequently rescheduled for Dec. 17. He declined the December date, asserting he needed to appear at a funeral.

The Committee indicated it would accommodate him if he suggested specific dates in January, but he declined to do so. A new subpoena was then issued to schedule his deposition for Tuesday.

The former secretary of state’s deposition was initially slated for Oct. 9 and then rescheduled for Dec. 18, but she also declined the December date due to a funeral. The Committee again offered to reschedule if she suggested January dates, but she did not.

Her deposition was then set for Wednesday.

Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon was sentenced to four months in prison in 2024 for his conviction on contempt of Congress charges for defying a subpoena from the Jan. 6 select committee. Peter Navarro, who was then a former trade adviser to Trump, was similarly sentenced to four months in jail for contempt of Congress in 2024 due to defying a subpoena from the committee.
