Fox News host Harris Faulkner called out a Democratic strategist on Wednesday after he attempted to dodge a question about a New York Times article that referred to his party as “passive.”

The New York Times reported that after talking with 250 focus groups, a Democratic researcher discovered the party was compared to passive animals like sloths and tortoises while Republicans often drew comparisons to lions, sharks and other apex predators. Faulkner, on “The Faulkner Focus,” asked Fred Hicks about the voters’ views.

“People called you slow, plotting, passive,” Faulkner told Hicks. “I mean, does that describe you as a Democrat?”

“Well, Harris and Jeremy, I think what we’re losing sight of right now, is why we’re even having this discussion,” Hicks claimed. “And the reason we are having this discussion is that Donald Trump just pushed the Congress to pass a bill that will add over $3 trillion in debt to the U.S. Government. He is violating due process and challenged in the courts and courts ruling against him left and right including trying to tell institutions of higher education how to manage their business. So the whole reason why we’re here is because Donald Trump is leaving a cavernous opening for Democrats and Americans to step forward. The other thing. If it was a Democrat doing [the] things Donald Trump is doing, Republicans would be up in arms. My philosophy is –”

The House of Representatives passed a budget reconciliation bill by a 215-214 vote early Thursday morning, which not only enacts President Donald Trump’s promises to end taxes on tips and overtime pay, but also makes the rates from Trump’s 2017 tax cut permanent. Faulkner cut Hicks off.

“Well, well, hold on a second. You have plenty of time to be up in arms, but you’re all focusing on, you’re navel-gazing and focusing on yourselves trying to fix it, that fake humility,” Faulkner said. “Look, that is a catch phrase that Jeremy [Hunt] came up with, but you have got to call it for what it is. What it is, is you have a lot of complaints about Donald Trump, but you’re not doing anything to go forward other than lawfare.”

The Supreme Court held a special oral argument session May 15 focusing on the practice of nationwide injunctions, centered on one blocking an executive order President Donald Trump issued regarding birthright citizenship when he took office Jan. 20. Other injunctions have targeted Trump’s executive orders addressing illegal immigration and border security.

“Lawfare?” Hicks responded. “What we’re doing is looking at how to take advantage of this opening and so we can fight for Americans. Again, unfortunately with this big, beautiful bill-”

“Which Americans, the rich Americans?” Faulkner responded. “God love us all. You ignore the average people.”
