Mayor Pete Promises Over Christmas To Raise Taxes For ‘Some Folks’

2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg promised that as president, he would raise taxes for “some folks.”
“So it’s a total of everything,” the South Bend, Indiana, mayor said at a campaign event. “If I get my way on every initiative, the sum total of that will at worst be deficit-neutral and more likely serve to reduce the deficit over time. Now, in order to do that, some folks’ taxes are going to have to go up — let’s be really honest about this.”
