A cheerleader at a Michigan high school is facing allegations of giving students pot brownies on Sept. 26 in exchange for homecoming queen votes and is under criminal investigation.

The unnamed student, 17, allegedly brought a dozen brownies with marijuana in them to Hartford High School in Hartford, Michigan. They were allegedly given to football players in goodie bags as a form of campaigning for the homecoming title, USA Today reported Thursday.

Hartford patrolman Michael Prince said some of the brownies were likely eaten while others were flushed down the toilet, WWMT reported Tuesday.

Hartford Public Schools superintendent Andrew Hubbard sent a letter to parents informing them that the school received an anonymous tip through OK2Say about the pot-laced brownies on Sept. 26.

“Through their investigation, we have confirmed that brownies laced with marijuana were brought into the school and distributed to several students,” the letter obtained by WWMT stated.

The letter includes links that parents can use to educate their children about drugs at the bottom of the page.

OK2Say allows students to confidentially report tips on criminal or harmful activities, according to Michigan’s government website. The program has had 1,076 drug reports between Sept. 1, 2014, to Aug. 31 statewide.

“It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment,” the website states.

The school announced its homecoming court on Sept. 28, according to its Facebook page.

Hartford Public Schools did not immediately reply to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
