South Carolina police are investigating a report that an unidentified woman broke into a man’s house to perform voodoo rituals and is actively stalking him.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office reported that the man, a resident of Hilton Head Island, filed his report Monday and that an investigation into the matter is ongoing. The man alleged that the unidentified woman’s stalking began after he reunited with an old friend whom he had not seen in years.
The friend texted him after they parted ways, saying “It’s urgent we talk, please call me,” according to the police report. The friend then informed him that a blond woman had approached her while she was walking her dog and the woman claimed to know the man. The stranger then gave her phone number to the man’s friend, asked the friend to inform her if she saw any other women going in and out of the man’s house, and claimed that she had been inside the man’s house and performed voodoo rituals with his hair, according to The Island Packet.
The man told police Monday that the story seemed so bizarre and unbelievable that he chose not to follow up on it, until his girlfriend found a note in her car door labeled “open when you get home.” The contents of the note were redacted in the police report. The man claimed that he did not write or place the note and believes that it is further evidence that someone is spying on him.
