Metropolitan Police in London, England, were called to the Southgate Tube station after receiving reports of an explosion and people running out of the underground facility.
Metropolitan Police tweeted that officers were investigating a suspicious package found at the Southgate station, and minutes later tweeted again that officers were responding to a minor explosion. They are unaware of the cause as of now.
A small number of people are being treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service for minor injuries.
Officers remain at #Southgate tube station. Enquires are ongoing to establish the cause of a reported minor explosion at 19:03 hours. We are not aware of any serious injury.
