Former Miss Iraq and former Miss Israel have reunited in Jerusalem for a sequel to their controversial selfie at the 2017 Miss Universe pageant.
Sarah Idan of Iraq and Adar Gandelsman posed for the photo that Idan posted on her Instagram account in 2017.
The photo led to death threats for Idan from her fellow Iraqis angry that she was friendly with an Israeli. She refused to delete the post and had to leave Iraq. She now lives in the United States, according to The Times of Israel.

Idan was all smiles during her recent reunion with Gandelsman. Idan posted an Instagram photo posing with Gandelsman and captioned it “Sisters reunion [sic]” as well as a photo of herself enjoying a meal at an “Iraqi Jewish Restaurant” in Jerusalem on Monday.
The American Jewish Committee, which was founded in 1906 and is one of the oldest Jewish advocacy groups, invited Idan to Israel. Besides reuniting with Gandelsman, the pageant queen also toured an Israeli market.
