A speech by EPA chief Scott Pruitt was briefly interrupted when a woman holding up a bottle of lotion started screaming until security kicked her out.
Scott Pruitt, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, had an unwelcome visitor when delivering a speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s annual Road to Majority conference on Friday. As Pruitt was beginning to tout the progress he and President Donald Trump have made while in office, the heckler made her move.

The crowd quickly chanted “leave” as security escorted the protester out of the conference room.
The lotion bottle was in clear reference to a Washington Post article that Pruitt used his taxpayer-funded security detail to drive him to several Ritz Carlton hotels in a mission to locate his favorite moisturizing lotion.
The article listed other trivial tasks the EPA leader repeatedly bestowed upon his staff, such as picking up his dry cleaning without him. It was the latest in a barrage of negative headlines he has encountered in recent months. Pruitt has been criticized for exorbitant security costs, a questionable rental arrangement, flying first class, raises to employees and much more. The EPA office has countered, however, that much of his security and flying costs are necessary as Pruitt faces unprecedented threats by individuals unhappy with his policies.
Pruitt is still receiving praise in conservative circles for overseeing numerous rollbacks of regulations enacted during the Obama administration. The EPA leader was invited to speak Friday on his work at the Faith and Freedom Coalition annual conference.
“You know, it’s interesting about this type of discussion,” Pruitt said as the lotion protester was being escorted out. “It’s here we are talking about free speech, religious liberty and folks won’t let you engage in it at times.”
