Rep. Kristi Noem Wins GOP Primary, Could Become First Female Governor Of South Dakota

South Dakota Republican Rep. Kristi Noem won the Republican primary for governor Tuesday night, making her one step closer to becoming the first female governor of the state.
Noem beat Attorney General Marty Jackley after receiving 58 percent of the vote. The Associated Press called the race at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, after 86 percent of the vote was reported. The win was historic, as Noem is the first woman to receive the state GOP’s nomination for governor.
The Republican congresswoman will go on to take on the winner of the Democratic primary in a Nov. 6 general election. Follow Henry Rodgers On Twitter
