A man attempting to escape police in Florida was eventually caught and taken into custody after tripping over his own sagging pants, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Tobias Smith was arrested Tuesday for “fleeing and eluding, among other violations,” after police officers signaled for Smith to pull over his vehicle to the side of the road, according to the police department’s Facebook page.

Smith attempted to outrun police, ran a stoplight and hit another vehicle. The accident caused $10,000 worth of damage and left the other driver “badly shaken.” Tobias drove away from the scene, smacked into a light pole and rammed his car into the front of a barber shop. Several customers were inside at the time, but nobody was injured.
Smith tried to escape on foot but tripped after his pants fell around his ankles. Police arrested him before he could get back up.
Smith, 25, already has a considerable history with the justice system. He has appeared at Volusia County jail seven times and spent more than 16 months in federal prison. Smith had been out on bail for charges of battery and false imprisonment when he was arrested Tuesday, the Miami Herald reported.
Smith’s new bond has been set at $76,000, according to the Miami Herald.
