Democrats, establishment Republicans and members of the mainstream media seemed to be working off the same talking points this past weekend, as they all have used the same phrase in their tweets about Syria.
Tweets urged President Donald Trump to develop a “comprehensive strategy” to solve the crisis in the region.
Democratic Sens. Kamala Harris of California, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Maria Cantwell of Washington; GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois; Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona and CNN personality Jake Tapper were among those who tweeted similar sentiments.
The president needs to lay out a comprehensive strategy in Syria in consultation with Congress — and he needs to do it now.

The Constitution gives Congress the power to authorize military action. If @realDonaldTrump wants to expand American military involvement in Syria’s civil war, he must seek approval from Congress – & provide a comprehensive strategy with clear goals & a plan to achieve them.(2/2)

The use of chemical weapons is abhorrent. It is a violation of international law. The President must lay out a comprehensive strategy to end the conflict, including the humanitarian crisis, and seek an authorization from Congress to avoid any further military escalation.

I have called for military action in #Syria for years. We need a comprehensive strategy to defeat #ISIS & to stop the war criminal #Assad. Our message last night: we will not turn our back to the horrific, inhumane use of chemical weapons in #Syria or anywhere else.

I applaud the President for taking military action against the Assad regime, and I am grateful to our British and French allies for joining us in this action. To succeed in the long run, we need a comprehensive strategy for Syria and the entire region. https://t.co/2xrHwVGYKK

Trump authorized the use of military force in Syria Friday, after Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad was accused of attacking his own people with chemical weapons.
“These are not actions of a man, these are crimes of a monster,” Trump said.
