MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough descended into a rant Friday on “Morning Joe” aimed at former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, outgoing Speaker Paul Ryan and President Donald Trump.

The show’s political panel was discussing comments made by Gingrich about Robert Mueller and the FBI using “Gestapo” tactics against Trump officials.

“He’s a historian of sorts. Again, he knows better,” Scarborough said. “He knows — he knows what the men and women of the FBI do every day. He knows about Robert Mueller’s integrity.”

Scarborough said Gingrich was “humiliating” himself by supporting Trump and believes he’s doing so in exchange for a political appointment.

“People sell out for different reasons,” Scarborough said. “People humiliate themselves for different reasons. I don’t know why Gingrich is doing it. Maybe it’s to stay in [Trump’s] good stead. Maybe he thinks he’s going to get an appointment. Some people will humiliate to get an appointment. Other people will humiliate themselves and lie for the President of the United States because they want to make money either on direct mail perhaps, or lobbying the President of the United States.”

Scarborough then pivoted to Ryan and accused him of lying for money.

“For instance, Paul Ryan — people want Paul Ryan to tell the truth. Now Paul Ryan’s not going to come out and tell the truth about Donald Trump,” he continued. “Because Paul Ryan wants to get a really big, fat paycheck.”

“I don’t know specifically about this and Paul Ryan, but let’s just say if Paul Ryan started telling the truth about Donald Trump today, his power as a lobbyist would go down the drain,” Scarborough said. “So there are a lot of different reasons … maybe he just likes being around power, or maybe he makes a lot of money lobbying as lawyer for clients that are associated with.”

“So much of this can be traced back to just greed and money,” he concluded.
