Stormy Daniels Might Have To Pay Trump $20 Million Due To Violated Hush Agreement

Stephanie Clifford, the adult film star known as Stormy Daniels who allegedly had an affair with President Donald Trump, might have to pay $20 million in damages for multiple violations of a nondisclosure agreement.

Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen claimed Friday that Daniels violated her and Trump’s hush agreement 20 times, which means Daniels could face up to $20 million in damages. The announcement comes the same day Trump’s lawyers motioned to transfer the lawsuit from a California state court to a federal court in Los Angeles. The motion was the first time Trump has appeared as a named party in Clifford’s lawsuit.

Clifford sued Cohen and a Delaware shell company called Essential Consultants LLC in a state court in Los Angeles on March. 6. Clifford stated that the “hush agreement” she and Cohen agreed to in October 2016 is not legit, which would allow her to publicly discuss her alleged relationship with Trump.

Michael Avenatti, Cliffords’s lawyer, criticized the motion on Twitter Friday, saying the move is “yet another bullying tactic from the president and Mr. Cohen,” and that the move would help “increase their chances that the matter will be decided in private arbitration.”

The filing today is yet another bullying tactic from the president and Mr. Cohen. They are now attempting to remove this case to federal ct in order to increase their chances that the matter will be decided in private arbitration, thus hiding the truth from the public.

Daniels affair with Trump allegedly lasted from summer 2006 to early 2007.
