Actress Debra Messing posted a photo on Instagram Wednesday, praising her young son for kneeling during the national anthem at a hockey game.

Messing was delighted over her son’s actions, taking to Instagram to describe how emotional she got over her son’s decision.

“Whose crying? I’m not crying,” Messing said in the caption to the photo, adding the hashtag #BLM (Black Lives Matter.)

Messing in the past has come out in support of those who kneel during the national anthem, an action recently started by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to protest America’s discrimination against minorities.

In September, Messing tweeted out a link showing Democratic Rep. Sheila Lee Jackson of Texas kneeling in solidarity with other NFL players.

“Teary…this is amazing,” Messing said in her tweet.
