US Helicopter Crashes In Syria, Injuring Two Service Members

A U.S. military Osprey helicopter crashed in Syria injuring two U.S. service members, CENTCOM revealed in a Friday statement.

The two injured service members “were evaluated for non-life threatening injuries and quickly transported to a medical treatment facility, where they were seen and released,” according to the statement.
The Osprey is reportedly not salvageable and the military is not currently clarifying whether the aircraft belonged to Marine Corps or the Air Force.
The statement continued, “the other passengers and crew on the aircraft were uninjured, and no other casualties were reported on the ground.” The cause of the crash is reportedly being investigated as a mechanical issue.
