The National Football League (NFL) is searching for a crisis communications assistant according to a job posting, just one day after President Donald Trump’s criticized the league.
A new job posted Monday showed the NFL is hiring a Senior Communications Strategist for their New York City location. The job requirements include providing crisis communications counsel to the leagues executives. This job position comes as Trump has continued to blast the NFL and many of it’s players who have been protesting the National Anthem.
“They will work closely with communications department leadership to create messaging to reflect the league’s wide variety of priorities and expedite organizational decision-making,” the job listing reads.
The timing of this job listing is key as the ratings for the NFL’s Sunday night football have dropped since Trump has continued to call out the league. There is definitely crisis with any company or organization, when the president of the united states continues to criticize them.
NFL players around the league are kneeling or staying in their locker rooms in protest during the national anthem, following Trump’s statement that players who do so should be fired.
“If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend!,” Trump said.
