Four head coaches in the National Football League were fired Sunday as the regular season has come to an end.
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, Chicago Bears head coach John Fox, Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio and Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell were all fired on the same day, during the last weekend of the regular season. All four teams had records which prevented them from advancing to the playoffs.
Pagano’s was fired Sunday after seven years with the Colts. The team had a rough year, ending the season 4-12. Del Rio was fired by the Raiders the same day, after only two years with the team. The Raiders finished the regular season 6-10. Fox was fired Sunday night after two years as head coach for the Bears. The team ended their 2017 season 5-11. Caldwell was also fired Sunday night. He spent three years with the Lions who finished the regular season 9-7.
The New York Giants fired head coach Ben McAdoo earlier this season after they ended the season 3-13.
