Julian Assange Wants The Fired Google Employee To Work For WikiLeaks

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange said Tuesday that he is offering a job to the Google engineer who was recently fired for writing a lengthy memo criticizing the company’s diversity policies.
Assange pulled no punches, alluding to Google’s decision to terminate its employee’s contract for voicing his opinion as “censorship.”

Aside from criticizing the diversity initiatives, James Damore, the engineer who wrote the 10-page memo that was circulated throughout Google, also argued that the company should be more open to different viewpoints. After sending the missive, he found out that by diversity, Google meant relation to genders and minorities, not ideology or general perspectives. Google CEO Sundar Pichai published his own letter to employees Tuesday, saying “people must feel free to express dissent,” a contention that was ironically proven disingenuous through the very actions he was announcing.
Assange seemed to notice the apparent hypocrisy.

The Australian computer programmer also fired off a number of tweets containing content that criticizes modern feminism.

Assange’s qualms with Google’s decision may go beyond the particular aforementioned situation. The link he includes in the first tweet criticizing Google’s act of “censorship” is a plug for his book, which in part details allegations of Google underhandedly linked to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The excerpt he provided describes (among other things) his account of how Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google parent company Alphabet, had a “special relationship” with the former 2016 Democratic presidential nominee.
