Recent filings with the Federal Election Commission indicate the Republican National Committee (RNC) raised nearly double the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in terms of fundraising in October.
The RNC took in approximately $8.7 million compared to the DNC’s $4.5 million.
The report shows the DNC spent well over what it brought in last month, blowing through $5.25 million. Democrats have a total of $4,703,185 cash on hand but $6.9 million in debt.
In contrast, Republicans have around $20 million on hand, and just $1.8 million in debt.
Republicans received a record $89 million and Democrats received $51.2 million in contributions this year.
“The RNC is the only organization on either side of the aisle currently running a full-scale General Election field operation, and we’re able to do so thanks to the thousands of supporters who continue to give us a decisive advantage over the Democrat National Committee in preparing to win,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in statement.
