The ability to capture photos for social media — particularly Instagram — is the deciding factor for many millennials when planning their next trip, the Daily Mail reported.
Travelers, ages 18 to 35, are now deciding on where to take their next vacation on the premise of taking good pictures for their social media accounts, the Daily Mail reported. Tour companies specifically designed for young travelers are even advertising their trips to exotic locations around the world under the promise of “endless Insta opportunities.” Several other tour companies are even bringing along professional photographers to help social media–savvy travelers document their trip.
Schofields, a U.K.-based vacation home rental insurance company, found that 40 percent of millennial travelers choose their vacation spots based on “Instagrammabilty,” according to the recent results of a survey of 1,000 people, Travolution reported.
“I have to admit to being a little astonished by these results,” Phil Schofield, the head of Inbound Marketing at the company, told Travolution.
