Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner threatened to arrest federal immigration enforcement agents during a Tuesday press conference.
President Donald Trump ordered United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to airports to assist the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) during a partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. Krasner, who has received support from left-wing billionaire George Soros, made his threat during an appearance at Philadelphia International Airport.

“This is how it works. You commit crimes within the jurisdiction that is the city and county of Philadelphia, I prosecute you. That is how it works,” Krasner declared. “No, I don’t take a phone call from president saying, ‘Let them go.’ No, the president cannot pardon you. I’ll say it again. The president cannot pardon you.”
“And yes, I will put you in handcuffs and I will put you in a courtroom and, if necessary, I will put you in a jail cell if you decide to make the terrazzo floor of this airport, anything like what you did in the streets of Minneapolis, which involved the criminal homicide of unarmed, innocent people,” Krasner continued. “We are not having that. But let me go back. To all ICE agents who are going to keep their oath, who are going to follow the law and uphold the Constitution of the United States, thank you for keeping your oath. To any agent who might think about doing it an illegal way, I’ll be seeing you in court and you’re not gonna like it.”
Krasner previously vowed to prosecute ICE agents in January in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent after the agent was struck by her vehicle during a Jan. 7 clash with a “rapid response group” opposed to ICE’s operations in Minneapolis. The agent later received treatment at a hospital for internal bleeding.
Krasner also provided legal assistance to immgirants accused of violent crimes in 2023, often trying to prevent them from being deported for offenses like rape, robbery, aggravated assault and homicide by vehicle.
Krasner faced an impeachment effort by state legislators in 2022 after crime in Philadelphia skyrocketed over the previous two years, including 1,000 homicides in 20 months. He also claimed “militias” were responsible for an expansive view of the Second Amendment in a July 2023 appearance on CNN.
