Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman tore into his party Wednesday for their conduct during Tuesday night’s State of the Union address.

President Donald Trump’s speech lasted an hour and 48 minutes, a record length, during which he celebrated the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and presented two servicemen with the Medal of Honor while also denouncing the welfare fraud perpetrated by Somali scammers in Minnesota. Fetterman took particular exception to the conduct of Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, who shouted at Trump during his remarks on illegal immigration.

“I mean, now it’s, you know, the constant kinds of yelling and screaming and, and, and now holding up signs and for doing all these things, I, I don’t think, I don’t care if it’s a Republican or Democrat, it’s a president, just don’t do that, don’t do that,” Fetterman told “America’s Newsroom” co-host Bill Hemmer.

“Respect the office, regardless who’s in that, and now for me, it’s like now when half the people in my party haven’t showed up, and then some of them have chosen to just yell and say and scream during all of it, I, I just don’t think that’s what we want, and I don’t believe as a Democrat… dancing frogs really moves the ball for us as a party either,” Fetterman continued.

Omar accused Trump of killing Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good, who were fatally shot by Department of Homeland Security officers during confrontations connected to “rapid-response” to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, in a Tuesday night post on X.

At one sparsely attended counter-rally organized by MoveOn.org, former MSNBC host Joy Reid was heckled, while Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut was interrupted by another heckler who got on the stage and called him a “scumbag.”

Initial reports of fraud in Minnesota by City Journal in November that also alleged proceeds from the scams went to the Somalia-based radical Islamic terrorist group al-Shabaab, prompted President Donald Trump to declare an end to “Temporary Protected Status” for Somalis in the state on Nov. 22. Federal officials estimated in December the fraud cost at least $9 billion, describing the situation as involving “industrial-scale” fraud, according to CBS News Minnesota.

Independent journalist Nick Shirley touched off a storm on social media Dec. 26 after he posted a photo of one day-care center in the Minneapolis area that displayed a sign calling it “The Greater Learing Center” on X, along with a 42-minute video that went viral showing him visiting that and other purported day-care centers in the area.
