Podcast host Joe Rogan called Democratic New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani “a fucking psychopath” while discussing his budget proposal during a Thursday episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Mamdani’s fiscal year 2027 budget proposal published on Tuesday allocated an additional $1.2 billion for migrants coming to New York City, the New York Post reported. Rogan said on his show that the spending on migrants was “crazy.”

“He’s a fucking psychopath. Like, the amount for migrants is crazy,” Rogan said. “There should be zero dollars for illegal immigrants.”

Rogan’s guest Michael Malice said it was necessary to spend money on feeding migrants so they do not steal from stores.

“Human beings need food. What are you going to do?” Malice asked.

“Get them jobs,” Rogan replied.

Malice asked how the process of getting a migrant a job would work.

“Get him a job in Guatemala,” Rogan joked.

“Wouldn’t you rather give them food than a job?” Malice asked. “I don’t want them taking American citizens’ jobs.”

Rogan and Malice agreed that the system was a complete “mess.” Malice said it was impossible to “throw [migrants] away.”

“Unless you’re going to remove them from the country,” Rogan said.

“Right,” Malice replied.

The Washington Post’s editorial board on Wednesday also mocked Mamdani’s planned tax increases in his $127 billion budget proposal. The total spending in the plan exceeds the budgets of 47 states, and would hike taxes for over 3 million residents in the city.

The editorial board said Mamdani was acknowledging that his constituents would need to pay the price to finance his socialist agenda.

“The reality is that Americans may like the idea of ‘free’ stuff — it’s how socialists win elections — but they are less excited about having to pay for it,” the board wrote. “They’re even less excited when they live in a state that ranks at the very bottom of the Tax Foundation’s State Tax Competitiveness Index.”

“Mamdani claims his administration has found $1.7 billion to cut, but that’s a laughable number,” the board also wrote. “The reality is that Mamdani is trying to expand a city government that already does way too much. The city should provide basic services, such as law and order, but instead it pours billions into social spending like housing and health care.”

Mamdani confirmed on “The View” Jan. 20 that he supported abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He also instructed New Yorkers on how to obstruct ICE agents in a Dec. 7 X post.

Moreover, Mamdani announced his free childcare policy for all — including illegal immigrants — during a Jan. 23 press conference.
