From Beer To Avocados, Adam Carolla Roasts Democrats’ Failed Trump Predictions

Comedian Adam Carolla ridiculed Democrats for fear-mongering about President Donald Trump’s policies with predictions that did not materialize during a Sunday episode of “The Adam Carolla Show.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer suggested in February that Trump’s tariffs on Mexico would make beer and avocados less affordable for Americans’ 2025 Super Bowl parties. Carolla joked on his podcast about the ease of acquiring avocados and scrutinized other predictions by Democrats, arguing the party was always wrong.

“You know what I was thinking about the other day? As I was, like, going on my third avocado in a day and a half, I thought, ‘Remember when the Democrats were explaining we weren’t able to have avocados?’ What happened to avocados?” Carolla asked. “What happened? Remember when, if Trump moved the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, that the Middle East was going to be on fire? All they do is pronounce shit.”

Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders said in 2017 that Trump recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital would “severely, perhaps irreparably damage” the chances for peace in the region. Moreover, despite the media’s predictions of violence, Trump’s decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem did not trigger mass violence.

Carolla also appeared to mock Democratic New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Saturday statement claiming the Trump administration’s capture and removal of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro “directly impacts New Yorkers.”

“Mamdani is talking about how New Yorkers are in danger now because they took the guy from Venezuela. It happens as much as [you] can’t get a Tecate. Hey, has anyone been able to get their hands on an avocado? I know a guy,” the comedian said. “He’s got a van. He sold me one for $128. It was a little old … And he sold me a Tecate beer six-pack. $71. Or did none of this ever happen? … By the way, and none of it ever does happen. ‘You bomb Iran, we’re gonna start World War III’ or nothing.”

“You know, the funny thing about all the Democratic scare shit is I just — every once in a while I’m just cutting an avocado and I go — or whatever I’m doing, going, ‘What happened?’ … The answer is nothing. Whatever it is you said was going to happen never happens,” he added. “So pardon me if I don’t believe you.”

Furthermore, the corporate media repeatedly predicted that Trump’s tariffs would lead to economic calamity — only for those forecasts to yet bear fruit.
