Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings called out a Democratic panelist on Tuesday’s “CNN NewsNight” episode who claimed that President Donald Trump “sucks” for Republicans.
Trump has come under fire from some of his supporters over remarks he made about H-1B visas, which allow employers to bring in foreign workers to fill roles under certain conditions, during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham. Attorney and trial consultant Madeline Summerville claimed that Trump’s comments put Republicans in a “very difficult position.”
“This sucks for you guys, because he has put — Trump has put you in a very difficult position, because as my colleagues have said here, right, if Joe Biden or any other Democrat would have said this, you’d be like, ‘That‘s ridiculous,’” Summerville claimed, with Jennings responding, “I don’t know you very well, but I can assure you that the condition of Donald Trump being the president versus Joe Biden in no way, shape or form sucks for me or Jim [Schultz].”

“Well, I think — I think it’s quite difficult to defend somebody who puts you in a position of saying we should put somebody else besides Americans first, especially, especially when he’s just given billions of dollars to bail out Argentina,” Summerville shot back.
The Trump administration gave Argentina a $20 billion financial aid package in October in the form of a “currency swap.” Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said during a Tuesday appearance on “Morning Joe” that the arrangement was profitable for the United States.
“I think — first of all, it was a currency swap, which we made a profit on. Number two, it’s quite easy for me to be perfectly comfortable with the president of the United States, who’s presiding over a broad coalition that does have disparate views,” Jennings responded. “The previous administration, you don’t even — you couldn’t sit here and tell me who the hell was in charge. I know who’s in charge of this administration.”
The Wall Street Journal published several articles about President Joe Biden’s declining mental acuity prior to his July 21, 2024, announcement that he would not seek reelection. Despite multiple sources confirming the reports, these articles faced pushback from other media outlets and Democrats.
On Dec. 19, 2024, the Journal revealed that White House aides had “insulated” Biden, even from his Cabinet members, as his health and mental capacity continued to deteriorate.
“You’re right, and I’m not going to defend it,” Summerville said. “I’m not sitting here to defend that.”
“For someone who will never be on a ballot again to decide to put the wants of their donors ahead of their historic voting coalition makes no sense,” two-time Republican congressional candidate David Giglio posted on X. “You no longer need the donors; thank them and say adios. If you deliver the systemic change you promised, you’d be immortal.”
