Jerry Nadler Gets Charlie Kirk’s Name Wrong Twice In Less Than 10 Seconds

Democratic New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, who is not running for reelection, got the assassinated Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk’s name incorrect two times in less than 10 seconds at a Wednesday hearing.

During a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Nadler, 78, cited a Tuesday New York Times article titled, “Trump Invokes Kirk’s Killing and Justifying Measures to Silence Opponents,” while questioning FBI Director Kash Patel. Nadler claimed Kirk would not support the actions alleged in the NYT report, but called him “Charlie King” twice.

“‘In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s killing, President Trump and his allies have laid out a broad plan to target liberal groups, monitor speech, revoke visas and designate certain groups as domestic terrorists,” Nadler read from the NYT piece.

“Politicizing the murder of Charlie King to go after free speech is not a legacy I believe Charlie King would have wanted,” he added.

One example cited in the NYT piece was Attorney General Pam Bondi saying on “The Katie Miller Podcast” Monday that the Department of Justice (DOJ) would “target” Americans for “hate speech” in light of Kirk’s assassination.

Bondi sought to clarify her stance on Tuesday after criticism from some right-leaning figures.

“Hate speech that crosses the line into threats of violence is not protected by the First Amendment,” Bondi wrote on X. “It’s a crime. For far too long, we’ve watched the radical left normalize threats, call for assassinations, and cheer on political violence. That era is over.”

Moreover, former President Joe Biden butchered deceased Georgia nursing student Laken Riley’s name after being heckled by lawmakers to say her name at his March State of the Union address.

“Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal, that’s right. But how many of thousand of people [are] being killed by legals,” Biden said. “To her parents, I say my heart goes out to you, having lost children myself.”

Riley was 22 years old and was found dead on the University of Georgia campus following a mid-afternoon run. Georgia authorities subsequently identified and charged Venezuelan illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra for Riley’s murder, who was found guilty and given a life sentence in November.

Nadler also listed multiple examples of political violence during a July 2024 House Judiciary Committee hearing, but omitted notable attacks on conservatives.
