President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the suspect who killed Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk is in custody.
A manhunt was on the way to find the assassin who shot Kirk from a building located 200 yards away from Utah Valley University. Trump said “with a high degree of certainty” on “Fox & Friends” that somebody “very close” to the suspect had turned him in as of Friday morning.
“I think with a high degree of certainty we have him in custody. Everybody did a great job. We worked with the local police, the governor, everybody did a great job,” Trump said. (RELATED: Charlie Kirk Killer’s Ammo Reportedly Marked With Transgender, Anti-‘Fascist’ Messages)

The FBI in Salt Lake City released photographs of a young adult male wearing a black sweatshirt with an American flag, a dark cap and sunglasses. New footage released by law enforcement on Thursday night showed the suspect fleeing the scene by exiting the roof of the building, where he left a footprint and fingerprints behind.
Law enforcement initially arrested two false suspects on Wednesday and released them after interrogation. Investigators found a high-powered, bolt-action rifle in a wooded area and cartridges that contained pro-transgender and pro-Antifa messages.
