Former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell on “The Jim Acosta Show” Friday angrily ranted while casting doubt on the fact that President Donald Trump’s ear was struck by a bullet.

A man shot Trump in his right ear toward the beginning of a July 13, 2024 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, prompting Secret Service agents to move him off the stage as blood ran down his face. O’Donnell suggested on the show that Trump’s ear would not have recovered so well if he had actually been shot.

“He’s the one who called for an insurrection! And then did not call the National Guard to come help people!” O’Donnell said. “And people died and got hurt! That is on him!”

Trump never called for an insurrection. He said during his Jan. 6, 2021, speech that the attendees would “soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make [their] voices heard.”

“And his assassination attempt! A man died during that assassination attempt. A man died. And it wasn’t him,” she continued. “And his ear miraculously healed, ladies and gentlemen. Will anyone in the news ever say that without couching it? His ear miraculously regenerated! People, what else do you need?”

Host Jim Acosta laughed and didn’t push back on O’Donnell’s remarks.

Trump’s former physician and Republican Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson published a medical update one week after Trump was nearly assassinated.

“As reported and witnessed by the entire world, he sustained a gunshot wound to right ear from a high-powered rifle used by the would be assassin,” Jackson wrote.

He also wrote that the bullet “came less than a quarter of an inch” from entering Trump’s head, producing a “2 cm wide wound that extended down the cartilaginous surface of the ear.” Moreover, there was “initially significant bleeding” which resulted in “marked swelling” of Trump’s “entire upper ear,” he wrote.

The FBI also clarified in a July 26, 2024, statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation that it was indeed a bullet that struck Trump. The New York Times’ Doug Mills took a photograph that showed a bullet flying near Trump’s head just before his bleeding commenced.

Thomas Crooks, the 20-year-old gunman, shot Trump from the roof of a building about 400 feet from where the then-candidate was speaking. He shot multiple rounds, injuring rally attendees and killing former volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore.

Fired MSNBC host Joy Reid on Tuesday similarly cast doubt on whether Trump was shot during an interview with former MSNBC host Katie Phang.

“He’s got these magical doctors who claimed that he was shot in the ear, but his ear, I guess, grew back? He had a Duplo bandage on one minute, no bandage the next,” Reid said. “We can’t get a medical record from this alleged assassination. He was supposedly shot! We have nothing!”
