Former Obama aides Jon Lovett and Tommy Vietor fired back at Hunter Biden on Monday after the former first son accused them of profiting off their ties to former President Barack Obama.

Hunter, in a Monday interview on “Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan,” accused Lovett, Vietor and Jon Favreau — who host “Pod Save America” together — of “dining out on the relationship with [Obama] for years making millions of dollars.” Lovett and Vietor responded on “Pod Save America” by accusing Hunter of grifting and hurting his father, former President Joe Biden.

“It must be just so hard for Hunter Biden to watch all these people dining out on somebody’s name,” Lovett quipped after playing a clip of Hunter’s comments, which also included a similar attack on other former Obama associates. “You know?”

“[W]hen it comes to the attacks on Hunter himself — like, okay, what if we just stipulate for the hypothetical, like, ‘Yes, okay, all your business dealings were above board and legal, all your paintings were purchased by art lovers who loved the product and didn’t know your name. [President Donald] Trump is worse.’ You were on the board of Burisma because of who your dad is,” Vietor said. “And that is what people hate about Washington. And it was part of the problem.”

Hunter’s first art sale with a professional art dealer did not occur until Dec. 11, 2020, just after his father became president-elect, his art gallerist testified in 2024, the Daily Caller reported.

“[O]ne thing we know is that Hunter Biden, throughout Joe Biden’s presidency, was a terrible liability for him. And put the addiction aside — it is because he was on Burisma, because he became an artist, because he was part of a kind of sleazy Washington that, as Tommy said, people hated,” Lovett added. “You were a liability. You should be ashamed of the ways in which you made your father’s political life worse. And, like, the idea that we’re going to listen to you now — like, give me a fucking break. It’s ridiculous.”

Hunter in 2014 joined the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas company. Devon Archer, a former board member, told Congress that Burisma was shielded by the Biden family “brand.”

Hunter was originally a counsel at the company. However, upon meeting Burisma’s owner, Mykola Zlochevsky, he was rapidly promoted to the board of directors, according to a timeline from the House Committee on Oversight.

Zlochevsky was the Ukrainian oligarch who reportedly described Joe Biden as the “big guy,” according to an FBI file.

Burisma paid Hunter over $80,000 a month for his role on the board during the 2014-15 tax years, bank records show.
