Former MSNBC host Tiffany Cross claimed Tuesday night that United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are “kidnapping” illegal immigrants and taking them to “concentration camps.”

President Donald Trump has made illegal immigration a priority in his second term after campaigning on the issue during the 2024 presidential election, signing multiple executive orders when he took office Jan. 20. Cross took issue with ICE operations, claiming the agency was “disappearing people.”

“This is the challenge I have with even talking about this,” Cross said. “We are normalizing a government agency disappearing people. We are normalizing — we‘re talking about it like it’s no big deal that they are kidnapping people and transporting them to concentration camps, both domestic and foreign.”

“I think that’s kind of insulting to —” New York Post Editor-at-Large Kelly Jane Torrance said before Cross interrupted her, saying, “I think it’s insulting what they’re doing. It is not insulting to Jewish — I find it insulting that you could even fix your mouth to defend this disgusting behavior.”

Cross then proceeded to shout down Torrance, who disputed Cross’ claims.

“Are there gas chambers at these — it‘s not a death camp,” Torrance said, before Cross, who has a history of racially-inflammatory comments, interjected, claiming, “It doesn‘t matter! It’s a concentration camp, what they’re doing. And they are disappearing people, claiming that these are people who have committed the most harsh crimes. But according to the reporting, less than 10% of these people have committed crimes!”

Trump designated Mexican drug cartels, the Venezuelan prison gang TdA and the El Salvadoran prison gang MS-13 as foreign terrorist organizations upon taking office Jan. 20 and invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to speed up the deportation of gang members on March 15.

Rioting spread to multiple cities after initially flaring up in Los Angeles following a June enforcement operation by ICE. In Texas, there were two incidents where shots were fired at ICE or Border Patrol facilities since Friday, with ten people being charged with attempted murder in connection to the former incident.

The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Resistance to ICE operations to arrest illegal immigrants has also included a Milwaukee judge who allegedly helped an illegal immigrant briefly evade ICE agents sent to arrest an illegal immigrant and Democratic Mayor Freddie O’Connell of Nashville releasing the names of ICE agents involved in a crackdown on illegal immigrants in the city. In New York City, ICE agents arrested Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander June 18 after he allegedly interfered with an operation in a Manhattan court, while Democratic Rep. LaMonica McIver of New Jersey was charged with assaulting an ICE agent after an incident in May at an ICE facility in Newark.
