‘Invading Is Just Easier Than Waiting In Line’: Gutfeld Tells How Democrats ‘Screwed Over’ Millions Of Legal Migrants

Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld tore into Democrats Tuesday on “The Five” for having “screwed over” millions of legal migrants due to their adamant support of illegal immigrants.

Democrats have opposed President Donald Trump’s deportation agenda since returning to office, with many pushing back against the raids on illegal migrants by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). While discussing the recent arrest of Democrat New York City Comptroller Brad Lander after an immigration court hearing, Gutfeld addressed what he called Democrats’ “big problem.”

“The Democrats almost single-handedly destroyed the appeal and necessity of legal immigration,” Gutfeld said. “Invading is just easier than waiting in line for a party that claims to love immigration, who tells us over and over again [that] we are a nation of immigrants to no end. You just screwed over millions of legal, ideal immigrants, the ones who played by the rules by telling them the process doesn’t matter. Come along here.”

“Oh, and then you demand empathy from us? Where was the empathy for the missing, exploited children? Where is the empathy for the victims of illegal criminals? Where was the empathy for the cities that were burdened by all these people? We were paying for their hotel rooms. There’s not a single media hack or Democrat that can demand any kind of empathy from us. It’s over,” Gutfeld added.

Lander is the latest Democrat arrested by federal agents while at the Midtown Manhattan courthouse, seen on video appearing to hold on to ICE agents as they tried to escort a defendant out of immigration court.

Lander was repeatedly heard asking if the officials had a “judicial warrant” before promptly being arrested and taken away.

Following his arrest, the Department of Homeland Security told the Daily Caller that Lander was arrested for “assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer.”

Lander’s arrest comes shortly after Democrat Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested during a chaotic event at an ICE detention facility, which also resulted in Democrat New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver being charged with assaulting law enforcement officers.

“Now the adults are in charge. You guys made this mess. You know what? It kills me. You guys created this mess, Democrats, and there’s a guy that’s trying to correct it,” Gutfeld said. “And what do you do? You sue him. It reminds me of when a guy performs CPR on a crash victim and saves her life, and she sues him for cracking her rib. They don’t want to be saved.”

“I want to know why you are stopping this process. It’s not about the process. You are using the process as a way to prevent the goal,” Gutfeld said. “If you believe that we should have a border, then you should be supporting the process. But you don’t really want a border.”

The U.S. border crisis became a major focal point for voters during the 2024 elections after millions of illegal migrants poured into the country under the Biden administration.

A recent poll by Way to Win and Impact Research found only 19% of likely voters in swing districts approve of how Democrats handle immigration. In comparison, 77% said they disapprove, leaving Democrats with a 58-point net negative rating on the issue.

Additionally, CNN Senior Data Reporter Harry Enten said on June 11 that Republicans currently hold an eight-point lead among foreign-born citizens on who they trust more to handle immigration, according to CNN’s own aggregate data.
