David Hogg Has Someone In Mind To Lead Democratic Party. His Choice Shows He Learned Nothing From 2024 Beatdown.

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair David Hogg said during a Friday interview that Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett is an ideal role model for their party.

Crockett has rapidly surged to prominence with her racially-charged tirades and inflammatory anti-Republican attacks, such as calling wheelchair-bound Texas Gov. Greg Abbott “Governor Hot Wheels.” When radio host Charlamagne Tha God requested Hogg’s thoughts on Crockett, the DNC vice chair gushed about the congresswoman, saying she delivers the “authenticity” that Americans desire.

“Jasmine Crockett — I love her. She is amazing. I think that people want to see somebody who fights and calls out the bullshit ultimately. I think that’s what Jasmine does,” Hogg told Charlamagne. “And we need a hell of a lot more people that are out there that are willing to do just that and call people out on their BS and not say, ‘Oh my God, Republicans are going to criticize me for saying this.’ Screw that. They’re going to criticize you no matter what. So what we should be asking ourselves is, what are we really fighting for? Because we know it matters.”

“And I think Jasmine is, frankly, the type of leader that we’re really looking to support in some senses, right? Somebody who is out there that frankly doesn’t give a damn what the other side  — at least the elected Republicans in Congress — say,” he continued. “That say what they believe in and at least, you know, even if you don’t agree with her, you know what she stands for, because she makes it very clear. And people are really craving that right now. They don’t want more politicians that say talking points that it doesn’t even feel like they believe, or you don’t even really know what they mean. They want somebody who’s out there that says what they believe and doesn’t care what somebody else thinks about it. They want that authenticity.”

Crockett is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. NewsNation political contributor Chris Cillizza asserted in April that Crockett would be a disastrous Democratic presidential nominee due to her far-left policies and tone.

“Jasmine Crockett is great if you’re a Democratic activist type. Fine, she’s saying everything you wanna hear,” Cillizza said. “The problem is Democratic activists alone don’t win you the presidency or even come close.”

Crockett faced a question on “Inside Texas Politics” in March regarding a possible run for the White House in 2028. She said that her “authentic” personality likely would prevent her from securing the presidency.

Moreover, she admitted in a March interview with “Lone Star Politics” that she was prioritizing opposing President Donald Trump over passing legislation in Congress.

Hogg co-founded the political group Leaders We Deserve in 2023, which announced plans in April to spend $20 million to assist in electing younger Democratic leaders, including primary challengers to incumbent House Democrats.
