Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett said Sunday on ABC News that there should be no peace for President-elect Donald Trump since he “signed up” for office again, warning that he should be working “every single day” to lower prices and keep Americans safe.

Throughout his four years in office, Republicans criticized President Joe Biden for his time away from the White House, citing family trips like his visit to St. Croix in December 2023 while the country witnessed an unprecedented number of illegal border crossings. On ABC’s “This Week,” panelist Reince Priebus called for Democrats and the corporate media to give Trump “a month of peace” to let his “process play out” while they debated his recent cabinet picks.

“I don’t know about giving him any peace, child. But I will say, because you signed up to be the president of the United States, and we are definitely at a precipice in this country and people were hurting and they believe in him. So no, there should not be any peace over the next four years,” Crockett responded.

“He should be working every single day, not hanging out at Mar-a-Lago … playing golf. He needs to be working and fighting to deliver for the American people to make sure that these prices come down, but also to make sure that we’re safe,” Crockett added. “Because there were a lot of people that were concerned because of the wars that have been taking place around the world.”

Crockett went on to remind viewers of Trump’s campaign promises to end the wars overseas.

“He is the guy that said, ‘On day one, I will stop this war, I will stop that war.’ Now, I don’t know what magic wand he has hanging out in his back pocket that’s going to allow him to do that,” Crockett continued.

“But as of right now, when we look at literally the level of competence when it comes to picking people that are competent for these positions, there are a lot of questions to be had about this. So at the end of the day, yes, we will respect what the voters decided and the voters did vote him in.” Crockett said.

In August, Biden’s vacation time came under scrutiny, with the Republican National Committee Research posting on X that the president had spent a total of 532 days on vacation, or 40.3% of his presidency, by Aug. 31. According to Roll Call, a public source of Biden’s published schedule, the president and his family had spent a portion of August away from the White House, resetting in California and Delaware.

In a September report, Biden was found to have spent an average of almost 133 days per year on vacation since entering the White House in 2020, according to The Economic Times. By comparison, the outlet reported that the average American worker would need nearly 48 years to accumulate the same amount of time off as the president, based on an average of 11 days of annual leave.
