Historian Allan Lichtman criticized “Piers Morgan Uncensored” host Piers Morgan Thursday for not shielding him from “The Young Turks” host Cenk Uygur’s “personal attacks” during a contentious Tuesday panel debate.
During an appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Uygur labeled Lichtman “deluded” and said he “deserve[s] a tall glass of shut up juice” for incorrectly predicting Vice President Kamala Harris would win the 2024 election, prompting the historian to melt down. Lichtman, on “Lichtman Live,” accused Morgan of irresponsibly allowing Uygur’s attacks in an effort to boost ratings.

“As you know, I may be a little thin-skinned because I have had hate heaped on me constantly, right? Death threats, violent threats, antisemitism, people trying to breach the security of our family. I’ve been doxed, I’ve been swatted and it was absolutely reprehensible that I should be subject to this on what should have been a rational panel discussion,” Lichtman said. “And, you know, I call out Piers Morgan. Piers, you should have been a responsible moderator. You should have stepped in right away and said there’s no place here for personal attacks. That’s not what we’re about.”
“But you abdicated your professional responsibility, and you sat there and let those personal attacks, which added nothing to the discussion, go on. In fact, you exploited them to try to get ratings. Just absolutely shameful,” he continued. “It could not have been more disappointing. But as I said, a lot of Cenk’s own followers called him a blowhard, a bully and he had nothing to add other than trying to tear me down with middle school insults.”
Morgan remained mostly silent during the exchange between Uygur and Lichtman, only chiming in sarcastically to say, “It’s great to see you Democrats all getting along so well.”
Lichtman has largely blamed “disinformation” and bigotry for his incorrect prediction that Harris would defeat President-elect Donald Trump, arguing that it caused voters to not be as “rational” or “pragmatic” as usual. He has also said that the Democratic Party publicly attacking President Joe Biden when he was still campaigning for a second term could have contributed to his wrong prediction.
The historian had accurately forecast nine of the past ten elections before his recent incorrect prediction, according to USA Today.
