‘I Have To Step In There’: Harris Faulkner Cuts Off Guest Who Hits At Trump Over Cancelled Events

Fox News host Harris Faulker interrupted a Democratic strategist who claimed that former President Donald Trump’s cancellation of six events was comparable to Vice President Kamala Harris avoiding the Al Smith Dinner.

Harris did not attend the event held to benefit Catholic Charities in person, instead doing a video appearance alongside former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Molly Shannon in her Mary Katherine Gallagher character. Marshall cited the cancellations after Kaylee McGhee White said Trump’s campaign events in Coachella, California and the charity event showed he was not afraid to appear before hostile audiences, unlike Harris.

“Did you just say that with a straight face?” Marshall said, almost laughing at McGhee White. “She was just on this network with 7.1 million viewers, 4 million more than the former president. He has canceled six events. He has canceled six events and in addition to that –”

“All right, I have to step in there,” Faulkner said, interrupting Marshall. “I have to. If you are talking about a rally, for instance, in Wisconsin, there are threats against his life.”

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrested 49-year-old Vem Miller on gun charges Saturday at a checkpoint near the site where Trump held a rally at Coachella in California. Trump has survived three previous assassination attempts. A Secret Service agent thwarted an apparent assassination attempt on Trump by firing shots at Ryan Wesley Routh, who was allegedly lurking near Trump International Golf Club on Sept.15 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump was shot in the right ear while giving a speech at a July 13 campaign rally in Pennsylvania. During his 2016 presidential campaign, a 20-year-old man from the United Kingdom tried to take a police officer’s gun in order to shoot Trump during a June 2016 campaign event in Las Vegas.

“I was with him, my team, four hours before he was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania. We were at Mar-a-Lago for a sit-down interview,” Faulkner told Marshall. “There are reasons why they have to sometimes. I don’t know all the list, but when it comes to a rally there is a very good reason why they would have to do that.”
