Hunter Biden reignited legal action Tuesday against Fox News, accusing the media giant of illicitly showcasing explicit images of him in a streaming series.

Hunter filed the suit in Manhattan state court, mirroring allegations presented in a now-dropped July filing that the unauthorized spread of intimate images breaches New York’s revenge porn law, according to The Associated Press (AP). The allegations stem from “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” a Fox Nation series that dramatized a court proceeding against Hunter on fictitious charges, distinct from the real-life felony firearms convictions he faced.

The new filing includes a current and a former Fox executive as defendants, AP reported. Fox News responded, seeking to transfer the lawsuit to federal court and dismissed the claims as baseless.

“Hunter Biden’s now second lawsuit against FOX News is once again devoid of any merit. The core complaint stems from a 2022 streaming program that Mr. Biden did not complain about until sending a letter in late April 2024,” a Fox News spokesperson told Daily Caller News Foundation. “The program was removed within days of that letter, in an abundance of caution, but Hunter Biden is a public figure who has been the subject of multiple investigations and is now a convicted felon. Consistent with the First Amendment, FOX News’s has accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making, and we look forward to vindicating our rights in court.”

Hunter dropped his lawsuit against Fox News hours after President Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 re-election campaign in July. The lawsuit criticized the series for depicting Hunter facing uncharged offenses like violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act and bribery.
