An Afghan man was reportedly caught in a plane’s landing gear while trying to flee the Taliban, video posted by the Daily Mail on Tuesday shows.
The man’s legs hung out of a C-17 military plane’s wheel arch and hit the side of the plane, video reportedly recorded from a porthole shows, according to the Daily Mail. The military planes evacuated U.S. personnel from the Kabul airport Monday after Taliban fighters seized the city on Sunday.
U.S. officials reportedly confirmed that human remains were found in a wheel well of a C-17 plane, the Daily Mail reported, though the outlet was unable to confirm if the plane shown in the video was the same as the one found with remains.

Other videos reportedly show hundreds of Afghan citizens on the tarmac of the Kabul airport clinging to the exteriors of planes in an attempt to leave the country, the Daily Mail reported. At least three people reportedly fell to their death after the planes took off.
Hundreds of Afghans trying to board departing flights were stopped by barbed wire on Tuesday morning, according to the Daily Mail. Nearly 700 Afghans were packed into a plane Monday with a carrying capacity of 150 soldiers or over 170,000 pounds of cargo.
At least 56,000 people, including more than 20,000 with special U.S. immigrant visas, were waiting to leave the country, the Daily Mail reported. The U.S. could issue up to 80,000 Special Immigrant Visas (SIV) to Afghan nationals who are being targeted by the Taliban for their role in assisting U.S. operations.
The Pentagon did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
