The National Center on Sexual Exploitation condemned Pornhub sex education courses as attempts to “masquerade as a legitimate educational resource” while luring users to watch the website’s pornographic content.
“Pornhub is shamefully trying to buy public goodwill by marketing sex ed material – for free – to lure in more subscribers, and the result is that children will have easy access to Pornhub’s version of sex education,” NCSE Senior Vice President and Executive Director Dawn Hawkins said in a statement.

“The truth is that Pornhub profits from some of the worst content imaginable,” she continued. “There is no amount of free sex ed that Pornhub can offer that can counteract the reality that it has profited from videos of victims of sex trafficking, rape, and non-consensually shared images.”
Pornhub’s Sexual Wellness Center, the pornography website’s “free resource for information about sexuality, health and relationships” is directed by broadcaster, author, therapist and speaker Dr. Laurie Betito.
Betito’s discussions of sexual topics focus on keywords including masturbation, BDSM, anal, gay, porn, premature ejaculation, female orgasm, penis size, and more.
“Now here is a sexual practice that for a long time remained quite ‘taboo,'” Betito explains of BDSM. “These days, I would have to say that it has gone far more mainstream thanks to the likes of 50 Shades of Grey. In fact, research is emerging that is showing that many women seek out BDSM porn more than they ever have.”
“People clearly have questions when it comes to BDSM—How do I practice this safely? How do I introduce this to a partner? What does it mean if you like to be dominated? And so many more,” she continued. “Once again, the PHSWC provides you with the answers to these and many other questions.”
The National Center for Sexual Exploitation protested that the sex resources are easily accessible to “any child using the Internet or a smartphone.”
“Research has found mainstream pornography—with its common themes of incest, racism, and violence against women—is linked to negative impacts on the brain and sexual development, and is driving harms such as offline sexual violence, increased sex trafficking, and more,” the NCSE said in a press release.
