Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said Wednesday that two members of the Lincoln Project sabotaged the 2008 Republican presidential ticket.
Tucker Carlson asked Palin on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” about her former campaign adviser, Steve Schmidt, and Schmidt’s recent endorsement of former Vice President Joe Biden.
“Go ahead and single him out, he’s a piece of work,” Palin, who was the late Sen. John McCain’s running mate in his 2008 presidential campaign, said. “So is Nicole Wallace and these other yahoos.”
“That’s evidenced now by what they’re doing today. You know they’re Democrats, they’re very, very liberal, they’re part of that uni-party, and to think that they were the ones, for instance, rolling out my candidacy and setting up the interviews … There was a lot of sabotage going on there,” Palin said.

Schmidt is a founding member of the Lincoln Project, an organization created to “defeat Trump and Trumpism,” according to its website. Its founding members include George Conway, husband to Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway and Rick Wilson, a former Republican political strategist.
“Look where they are today. I mean, Steve Schmidt oh my goodness, MSNBC contributor … they were wolves in sheep’s clothing,” Palin said.
President Donald Trump, tweeted in August that “McCain was a lousy candidate with lots of bad policy,” but that the “deadheads” working on his campaign “never gave him a chance to win.”
Sarah is correct. McCain was a lousy candidate with lots of bad policy, but the “deadheads” sabotaged his campaign from the inside, and never gave him a chance to win. Hope they were happy with OBiden, who gave you me! https://t.co/rynLuGRKHA

“It’s kind of vindication for us,” Palin told Carlson. “It’s like see, told you so, they were never on our team to start with.”
Schmidt did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
