Iranian Gen. Hossein Dehghan stated his intentions for a theoretical war with the U.S. and Israel in an interview on an Iraqi TV network.

If war were to break out, “America would find itself in the garbage bin of history,” and Israel would be “erase[d] from the face of the earth,” Dehghan, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s defense adviser, said in the June 20 interview.

Israel’s involvement in the theoretical conflict, according to Dehghan, is sure to come as the “flame of the war” will move immediately to the Jewish nation-state.

Dehghan, the former defense minister of Iran, also added deployed U.S. soldiers and bases are within range of Iranian artillery. “War in the region would not be a walk in the park,” he also said, according to MEMRI TV.

These comments come in lieu of escalating tension in the Iranian region after the Middle Eastern nation allegedly destroyed a cargo tanker and a U.S. military drone.

The Iranian general called U.S. President Donald Trump a mere “agent of his administration.” He also said the U.S. is “afraid” and “not ready for war.”

Trump issued sanctions against Iran Monday.
