Hairstylist Jordan Hunt was fired from his job at a Toronto hair salon Wednesday, after video surfaced of him kicking a female pro-life protester on camera. He may also be headed to court now, after the victim said she’ll be pressing criminal charges.
The salon where Hunt works, Nobel Studio 101, released a statement on Instagram about his dismissal Wednesday and said they don’t support his use of violence.
“It has been brought to our attention that Jordan has been caught on camera assaulting an innocent bystander at a pro life rally. We don’t condone his actions and he has been let go. We believe that everyone has a right to an opinion and the right to voice their opinion without fear of physical violence.”
The 27-year-old victim, Marie-Claire Bissonnette, was leading a silent protest against abortion when Hunt decided to round house kick her in the shoulder, sending her phone flying to the ground.
“He kicked me in the shoulder, my phone went flying,” Bissonnette told the Toronto Sun Thursday. “I start shouting for someone to call police and before he runs away, he goes up to me and I had a ribbon on my jacket indicating the leader, he tore it off my chest.”

Police are still investigating the incident, but Bissonnette said she’s planning to press charges as soon as Hunt is in custody, according to The Toronto Sun.
“It’s not the first time I’ve experienced physical aggression from people who disagree with our message,” she told The Sun.
“I don’t think it’s acceptable to show any physical violence to anyone who disagrees with you. The perpetrator should know that.”
