Republican House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California said despite earning $15 million at a private fundraiser with President Donald Trump on Thursday, the “challenge” is that Democrats are raising more.

“This [money] goes out to help all members across [sic]. It was a good night. A lot of good support. But the challenge we have is Mike Bloomberg wrote an $80 million check and he said he’s even going to give more just to defeat Republicans,” McCarthy said on “Fox & Friends” Friday.

Trump spoke to more than 300 people at the private fundraiser, which was held at the Trump International Hotel and raised $15 million for the Protect the House political committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“Tom Steyer has spent more than $120 million because he wants to impeach the president,” McCarthy continued.

“Yes, we celebrated our accomplishments — more than 4 million jobs. But we also talked about the challenge of if the Democrats did win.”

McCarthy also said illegal immigrants would be able to vote in national elections with impunity if Democrats regain power and claimed American voices would be stifled at the polls.

Co-host Steve Doocy asked if Trump mentioned Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing and McCarthy said the president was pleased with the judge’s performance.

“He did mention it. He said he watched it through,” McCarthy said. “He thought Kavanaugh did very well. His passion was for everybody involved. But, I thought from the standpoint, I talked to him after the event as well — I think they have to move forward. I think America’s been through enough of this. Let’s have the vote and move forward.”
