A Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate sent voters mailers with illustrations of the National Rifle Association using schoolchildren-shaped targets for “AR Practice.”
The cards mailed by candidate Jeff Greene’s campaign show targets decorated with the outlines of children and NRA seals that are hanging in a school hallway lined with lockers. The cards were mailed ahead of the Aug. 28 primary, reported FloridaPolitics.com.

“As a father, I won’t stand by while the NRA turns our kids into targets,” said a quote from Greene on the front of the mailer.
Greene is a Palm Beach, Florida, real estate investor with a net worth of more than $3 billion, reported the Palm Beach Post. A late-comer to the Democratic primary, he is polling 11 points behind fellow Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gwen Graham, reported FloridaPolitics.com. Greene and Graham are among six candidates, both Republican and Democratic, battling to replace Republican Florida Gov. Rick Scott.
Greene’s mailer touts him as a “dad who will stand up to the NRA” who would never take their “blood money.”
The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to Greene’s campaign team via the candidate’s official website but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
