Freud’s ‘Secret Society’ Rings Will Go On Exhibit At Jerusalem Museum

Renowned psychologist Sigmund Freud’s six “secret society” rings will go on exhibit at a Jerusalem museum starting July 20.

The Israel Museum’s upcoming “Freud of the Rings” exhibit will present for the first time Freud’s jewelry from his secret psychoanalytical society, according to Agence France-Presse. Freud, also known as the founding father of psychoanalysis created a secret psychoanalytical society to carry out his school of thought. He gave out a ring to each of the five other psychologists that were committed to carrying out his teachings.

Freud’s rings were composed from his personal stone collection that included personalized engravings based on Roman mythology and his relationship with the disciple. He eventually gave out another 20 rings to other psychoanalysts as well as to his former patients.

The exhibit also includes items from his personal antiquities collection, according to the museum’s website.

The exhibit will run until Feb. 28.
